The first 53 entries to my MK2 Project Site address the “deconstruction” of my 1964 MK2 for a complete restoration. The 53 entries are chronological in nature, that is, they begin in January 2010 with the purchase of the car and end in December, 2011 with a description of work on the wood fascia boards.
Following entry 53, the “restoration and fitting” or trial assembly of the renewed and new components is detailed but it is no longer a chronology. Instead, major sections of work, generally following the Jaguar MK2 Models Service Manual, are journaled. I have assumed that the reader will find this approach more useful than a sequenced chronology.
Finally, the reassembly of the MK2 will revert to the chronological approach describing the sequence of assembly as work progressed.
