The last dismantling jobs are to remove the door glass and chrome window frames, the window regulator mechanisms and the door locks. I started with the LH driver’s door by doing somemeasuring as a first step. The images below show the measurements for mounting the glass intothe regulator channel, and the relative position of the window frame on the body. Note that thesecuring screws for this door’s glass frame are in the center of the adjustment slots.

Next, I removed the four round head slotted screws securing the top of the window frame to the door body. The back edge of the frame had one packing piece, or shim, while the front of the frame had two and of different thicknesses. I then removed the two 7/16” hex hed bolts securing the two legs of the window frame to the door. I took care to carefully remove the packing pieces used to shim the frame to the door. The rear post had a hard rubber shim and one fibre washer. The front post had three fibre washers. The window frame could then be pulled out of the door.

The next task was to remove glass from the regulator channel. This entailed lots of cutting with an xacto knife blade and scraping, but I finally did remove the glass. I may not remove the glass from the other regulator channels. I again took some measurements before I pulled the glass out.

I then removed the regulator assembly at its two mounting points. First, four round head slotted screws were removed from the lower mounting point and then four round head slotted screws were removed from the upper mounting point where the regulator spring is located. The entire assembly could then be removed from the door through the largest opening.
